Estate and closet cleanouts
Clearing out a house is heavy work, and not only physically. We take one part of it off your plate and try to make that part easy.
If you’re reading this because someone died, we’re sorry. That’s the situation most people are in when they end up on a page like this, and we’ll say up front that we try to handle it like people rather than like a business collecting inventory.
What we do is narrow: we buy the clothing and the shoes. Not the furniture, not the dishes, not the paperwork. But clothing is often the part families put off longest, because it’s the most personal thing in the house and because there’s so much of it. Having someone take that piece can make the rest of it move.
How we work on a cleanout
At your pace
Some families want it gone this week. Some need a month. Both are fine. We won’t chase you, and if you go quiet for three weeks we’ll assume you had a reason.
No pressure, ever
You can pull anything back at any point, including at the door with cash already on the table. Sentimental items get set aside first — ask us and we’ll wait while you go through them.
We handle the volume
Whole closets, whole houses, decades of accumulation. You don’t need to sort, fold, wash or price anything. Open the closet and let us work.
Straight about the rest
We’ll tell you plainly what we can’t use and where in Yuma it’s best taken — donation, textile recycling, or another buyer. No games about it.
Older homes are usually the good ones
The thing families most often don’t expect: a closet that’s been undisturbed since the 1980s is the closet we most want to see. Work clothes worn for thirty years, a leather jacket in a garment bag, western shirts, boots resoled twice, the shirts from a business that closed decades ago. What looks like the least valuable part of an estate — old, worn, out of date — is frequently the most valuable to us.
Please don’t pre-throw-away. The single most common thing we hear is “we already took the old stuff to the dumpster.” If you’re not sure, set it aside and send a photo. It costs nothing to ask.
Working with executors and estate professionals
We’re happy to work alongside an estate sale company or a realtor on a timeline — usually after the general sale, when the clothing that didn’t move still needs to leave before closing. Yuma’s established estate companies focus on antiques, furniture and collectibles; clothing tends to be an afterthought for them and a leftover problem for you. That’s the gap we fill.
If you’re out of state handling a Yuma property remotely, that’s workable too. A neighbor or property manager can let us in, we photograph what we take, and we can send payment however suits you.
