Selling clothes and shoes in the Foothills
We’re out in Fortuna Foothills constantly — it’s one of the densest concentrations of winter residents in the county, and park model closets out here are consistently worth the drive.
Free pickup covers the whole Foothills area: the subdivisions off Foothills Boulevard, the park model and RV communities along Frontage Road, Araby, Fortuna Road, and out toward Wellton. There’s no minimum and no charge — you photograph, we make an offer, we come to your door with cash.
Why we spend a lot of time out here
- The winter communities. Foothills park model and RV resorts run heavy from November to March, and those closets turn over every single spring. If you’re heading north, this is the page for you.
- Good outerwear. People bring proper coats and jackets to Arizona and wear them twice. It’s the most consistently undervalued thing in a Foothills closet.
- Western and work wear. Ariat, Justin, Carhartt, Wrangler. There’s a lot of it out here and it sells reliably.
- Golf and resort wear. Tommy Bahama, silk camp shirts, golf apparel. The Foothills produces more of this than anywhere else we go.
An important local note on garage sale rules
Most of Fortuna Foothills is unincorporated Yuma County, not the City of Yuma. That matters, because nearly everything written about garage sale limits and sign rules in this area quotes city code — the three-sales-a-year limit, the sign prohibition, all of it. Those are City of Yuma ordinances and they do not automatically apply to an address in the county.
What the county requires instead is its own question, and it isn’t one we’re going to guess at in writing. If you’re planning a sale out here, one call to Yuma County settles it. And if you’re in a park or an HOA, their rules apply regardless of who governs the road outside.
How it works
Send photos
Lay things out on a bed or the floor, tags visible where you can manage it. Five minutes of effort is plenty.
Same-day offer
A real number for a specific set of pieces, and honesty about what we’d leave behind.
We drive out
You pick a window. Cash at the door, we load it, ten minutes and it’s gone.
Also out this way
We cover Wellton and Tacna on the same runs, and Somerton, San Luis and Winterhaven on the other side of town. If you’re further out than that, ask anyway — if there’s enough there, we’ll come.
Running a Foothills sale instead? Read the season and timing guide first, and consider the $20 First Look — we pay hosts twenty dollars cash to look at the clothing before opening, and you keep it whether we buy anything or not. Then text us photos of whatever’s left on Sunday.
